Neighborhood Guide: Los Feliz

Los Feliz is a Hollywood Hills neighborhood inhabited by a diverse range of cultures, ages, and incomes.  Los Feliz was originally a land grant to Corporal José Vicente Feliz with Hollywood bordering to the west and Silver Lake to the south.  This hillside neighborhood is home to amazing architecture and attractions that you won’t see in many other areas.

Start with a visit to Bar Covell where you can learn about wine without judgement.  They strive to serve each customer a glass of wine they love to drink.  Choose from a selection of bites to accompany your wine in an atmosphere that has a unique Los Feliz feel.

Hop over to the Drawing Room to continue your tour of bars in Los Feliz.  Pick a few songs on the jukebox and enjoy free snacks with your selection of spirits.

Enjoy great wings surrounded by televisions in Ye Rustic Inn Bar.  This dive bar has been around since 1971 and claims to have the best wings on the west coast.  Head here when you are in Los Feliz and you can be the judge of that claim to fame yourself.

During your visit, be sure to enjoy some of the attractions that make Los Feliz unique.  The Berendo Stairs is the perfect way to hike up to Griffith Park.  The steps were constructed in 1924 and can be found on Berendo at Cromwell.  Catch sweeping view of Los Feliz as you take the steps up to Griffith Observatory and planetarium.

Catch one of the classical and contemporary music acts at The Greek Theatre.  Add to your experience with box seats and dining right from your seat.

If you love independent film, check out the entrance of Vista Theatre where you will find hand and foot prints of some of your favorite actors and directors.  The theatre remains in operation and you can catch a movie while you are there.
