The new park courtyard of Montage Hotel has become a city center for gathering, reading, sharing coffee and small concerts. The atmosphere is much like the small parks in European cities where locals gather to relax and visit, which is a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of LA.
Speaking of hotels, the new Waldorf Astoria Hotel is set to open in 2017. The hotel is located next to the Beverly Hilton and will include 170 rooms, some of which may be rented out as private residences — complete with 5-star amenities.
Downtown Beverly Hills also has a small assortment of lovely boutique hotels that are off the beaten path, but which offer comfortable luxury without over-the-top cost.
