The Best New Year's Celebrations in the Los Angeles Area

Have you made plans for New Year’s Eve yet?  Los Angeles offers some of the best NYE events on the West Coast, and these are just some of our favorite ways to ring in the new year in the City of Angels.

BEST FOR FAMILIES

N.Y.E.L.A. at Grand Park

The three-block greenspace between the Music Center and City Hall will be packed with family-friendly attractions for all ages.  DJs and live bands will provide entertainment from three different stages, while vendors sell food ranging from tacos to funnel cakes.  Get your picture taken at the photo booth then count down to the new year with a new, interactive countdown featuring 3-D digital video mapping on two sides of City Hall. This will be an alcohol-free, family-friendly event, so no alcohol will be permitted in the event space.

Cost: FREE!

BEST FOR A LAID BACK NYE

New Year’s Eve at Angel City Brewery

If you are in search of a low-key New Year celebration, head to the Angel City brewery to enjoy limited edition brews, live entertainment, local food trucks, and more.  Participate in a special Sparkling Berliner Weisse toast at midnight with fellow party-goers.

Cost: FREE!

BEST FOR THEME

Prohibition Eve at Union Station

Travel back to the 1920s for this massive Prohibition era-themed party in Union Station. Revelers are encouraged to dress in accordance with the Prohibition theme: flapper dresses and tuxedos are preferred, but formal attired is required.  The event will feature theatrical burlesque performances, live jazz ensembles, DJs, an open bar and more!  The evening’s countdown culminates with a 60 foot midnight ball-drop celebration.

Cost: $135 for pre-sale tickets, $165 at the door

BEST FOR VIEWS

NYElectric at the W Hollywood Rooftop Loft

The draw of the W Hollywood’s NYE event is centered on the loft’s panoramic views of the entire city.  The party features a backdrop from the Hollywood Hills to the Iconic Skyline of DTLA. Watch the clock strike 12 stories above the intersection of Hollywood and Vine amidst glamorous surroundings and glamorous people.  The event will include a premium hosted bar and DJs to keep the music going all night long!

 Cost: Tickets start at $249

BEST FOR ROMANCE

New Years Eve on the Queen Mary

Ring in the new year with your special someone as you float aboard the Queen Mary.  Spend the evening dancing, enjoying live musical performances, and exploring the famous decks of the ship.  End the evening with a kiss under a firework display over the Pacific Ocean.

Cost: $99, plus add-ons

BEST ALL AROUND

8th Annual Cleopatra’s 2017 LA New Year’s Eve Ball at the Egyptian Theatre
